Prepared this teatime Snack, as a International Friendship Day post on my food page :)
No onion, no garlic, how with, just some chilies, ginger, groundnuts, potatoes, carrots and mainly the BEET ROOT could make someone slurp with awesomeness?
It can only be realised if you could have a bite to this amazing cutlet !
Just have it, and It will make you crazy, with it’s burst of flavours, it’s rich colour & it’s texture!
We, the Bengalis are known for our weaknesses towards fish, sweets and tele bhajas (deep fried) and this Vegetable chop is one of those deep fried love which is crispy & crunchy from inside & slight sweety soft from inside.
in kolkata , we call it a street food, but I grew up eating this during the Bijaya time (sweettooth days after Bijaya Dasami) and sometimes during rainy season. This dish is my Maa’s speciality, and I learned it from her, and to me, she makes the world ‘S best Vegetable Chop.
I served with tomato ketchup & onions but it tastes best with Kasundi (mustard sauce) and cucumber onion salad....
Just give this a try, Friends... YOU will surely love this Bangla’s Love
Happy International Friendship Day....
COMPONENTS OF CONCOCTION:
Beet Roots finely grated 3 medium size
Carrots finely grated 2 medium size
Potato 2 medium size boiled
Groundnut roasted & half broken 3 teaspoons
Ginger grated 3 teaspoon
Green Chillies 3/4finely chopped
cumin & coriander seeds roasted & grounded 1 teaspoon
Homemade Garam Masala(made from cloves, cardamom & cinnamon only) 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Flour 3 teaspoons mixed in water
Breadcrumbs 4/5 tablespoons
Let’s make it:
Take some oil in a pan, fry green chilies and ginger for 1 minute. Into this add the grated beetroots and carrots and sauté well in medium to low flame for 10 minutes Now add the boiled mashed potatoes, salt, roasted cumin & coriander powder and the garam masala powder. Mix well until everything gets soft for another 10 minutes.

Cool the mixture and make round/ oval or cylindrical size (as per your choice) cutlets/chops.

In a separate bowl, mix the flour with little water to get a thin white batter. Dip each cutlet in the batter and then roll them in bread crumbs to get a nice coated texture on all the sides. Deep fry the chops in hot oil in medium flame until golden brown. ..... And there it goes..... Your Lip Smacking Vegetable Chops are ready to be served....
Take them hot with onion rings and tomato ketchup as i did.... It tastes best with Kasundi (mustard sauce) & onion cucumber salad.... Bengalis just love vegetable chop with the tangy Kasundi. Hope you are ready for the trial..... All the best!

I’ve been on the hunt for a good low sugar ketchup, and FeedSmart’s version is just perfect! It’s hard to find a ketchup that doesn’t compromise on taste while being healthier, but this one checks all the boxes. It’s great to know I can serve it with my kids’ favorite snacks without worrying about excessive sugar. Plus, the use of natural ingredients makes it even better. Highly recommend trying it if you’re looking for a guilt-free ketchup option for the whole family!
These vegetable chops are just wow 👌
